Appointment Access

I ended up calling Planned Parenthood last summer, desperate for an appointment to get an IUD. I had been told earlier that week that I was at high risk for stroke on hormonal birth control pills, and I needed to stop taking them immediately. My doctor sent me a list of a few places I could call to try to get an IUD. The other places on the list did not have appointments for even an initial consultation for 4 months, with the appointment for IUD insertion likely months later. I was terrified that I might be without birth control indefinitely. I finally called Planned Parenthood. They were able to get me a consultation within the week. I had an appointment to have the IUD inserted within a month.

I honestly don't know what I would have done over the past year if Planned Parenthood hadn't provided me with the medical care I needed, especially in light of the recent Supreme Court decision.
